About Lazy Lancester's Bullet Microphones

Lazy here. Thanks for visiting! I've been playing harmonica for 35 years (that's not to say well) and I love building things, I've been doing that for most of my life. I am fortunate to be able to combine my passions and proudly offer you these custom made bullet microphones. Hand crafted from new, recycled and repurposed materials. Most models feature 54mm (2 1/8") and 58mm (2 1/4") grill diameter blanks offered in brass, copper and chrome finish. Most shells are turned from Australian Redgum (Eucalyptus Camaldulensis) but other timbers are available upon request.

The standard element is a 1000 Ohm dynamic which very nicely rolls of the highs and has a big smooth bottom end. This is a result of many years of experimentation and development towards a dedicated element for distorted harmonica. I'm very pleased to offer it in an attractive housing for fellow players ! I can also fit most other elements of your choice. The finish is automotive acrylic lacquer which is easily touched up. Several grill designs are available as standard, but if you have a particular design in mind, Lazy can most likely meet the challenge. Just draw me a sketch or send a photo! I ship anywhere in the world that Australia Post allows! Money back guarantee applies to materials and workmanship, of course, but also extends to the tone. I endeavour to provide an accurate sound example of what can be achieved. If you aren't completely happy, just return within one month of receiving your Lazy Lancester in the condition in which it was sent, and a full refund minus freight will apply. Enjoy your browsing!

Recent update 10/10/23: I am extremely delighted and privileged, putting it mildly, to include a review of the LL by the one and only Roly Platt, harmonica virtuoso !!!! See link below

Recent update 29/8/23: LLs now have a highZ transformer option. Such strong voltage they are jumping out of their shells ! Previous customers can use common 600Ohm to 50kOhm inline transfomers to achieve the same result if required.

Hi guys, here is a quick sample of me playing a Hohner marine band in G in to a Lazy Lancester “Aviator” in to an analogue delay pedal with short delay and a small amount of repeat, then in to a Pignose amplifier. This illustrates just how good the LL element is when you can extract a smooth brassy tone from such a humble set up let alone big amps with big bassy speakers !
